week 9 (term 2)
today I started my composition. I notated bars 1-8 and I'm using a build-up kind of technique. I'm excited to continue on this composition. to start off and introduce the melody, i kept it very simple and just had the clarinet playing the motif. afterwards i used a inversion technique in the opening of the flute part, while keeping the same motif the same in the clarinet.
week 10
I have notated bars 1-16 now and my composition is really coming together so that's exciting! I have also notated what I've got to so far on my graphic plan. it's a little bit messy and not very thought through but it's only a first draft so it's ok.

holidays
I have officially finished all of my piece partially notated, although I still need to make the piece more complex. That means going through each part and adding certain details, like long notes or supporting harmonies. I'm really happy with how I'm going so far though.
week 1 (term 3)
today in class I worked on finishing and polishing my piece, and I ended up changing my instruments from clarinet nad flutes to cello, violin and viola. I think now it sounds prettier and more classical, if that makes sense. I also added some extra notes and changed some clashing ones, and I'm glad i did because now it sounds more full and lively.
week 2
scrap that, I decided I actually did prefer the clarinet and flutes, I guess it just took changing them to realise how much better it sounded with the woodwinds compared to the strings. all I have to do now is do my graphic plan and I'll be good to submit on Friday.
